Service leader?

God had given the law to Moses long ago and the Jews had to obey God’s laws. The scribes and the Pharisees were responsible for teaching the law to the people. But the Pharisees had added hundreds of their own rules to explain God’s law. They said that people should obey all these rules. But they often avoided their own rules. Jesus did not want people to copy this bad behaviour. These teachers tried to appear good, but they wanted honour for themselves rather than for God.

Continuity after the cross work

Leviticus 23 contains a list of the holy days for the Jewish people. They include the important Jewish holidays which are usually in April, June, and October.

Today’s scripture concentrates on the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread as well as the First Harvest.

Walking Faithfully With God

Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, was a priest. Because all male descendants of Aaron were priests, there were, even in Old Testament times, too many priests for the amount of work to be done. David, therefore, divided them into twenty-four divisions, and each division served for two weeks each year.
