A New Thing is Coming

  • Rev. Bright Mawuena Nfodzo
Date preached January 5, 2023

18 “Don’t remember the former things; don’t dwell on things past.

19 Watch! I’m about to carry out something new! And now it’s springing up— don’t you recognize it? I’m making a way in the wilderness and paths in the desert.

20 Wild animals, jackals, and owls will honor me because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wilderness to give drink to my people, my chosen ones,

21 the people whom I formed for myself and so that they may speak my praise.”

Israel failed to obey God and was subsequently punished. God used the power of foreign nations to enslave the Israelites and brought suffering and hardships upon them.

God now says He would do a new thing that had already started. The foreign nations will fall so that Israel could go free.

The history of Israel proves that God’s powers are supreme and that He is the only God. For Israel’s sake, God will overthrow Babylon. God is still Israel’s covenant God, who will once again redeem His people from bondage.

Just as He miraculously led Israel through the Red Sea and across the desert in the time of Moses, so He will lead His people to the promised land again.

God’s people are witnesses to how He rescued their families from Egypt in the past (see Exodus chapter 14; Psalm 77:19-20).

As on the former occasion, He will protect them from danger and provide for their needs along the way.

Many people may continue to sit in their former plight and not take a step forward. God assures us of His desire to do something new.

🔷 We must not dwell on the past but focus on the future and the hope God has for us

🔷 God the great provider is able to break all protocols and miraculously provide the needs of His people

🔷 We must speak the praise of God as the people He has chosen and given life

💥 Tell and thank God that you recognize His work
💥 Ask God to do a new thing in your life

God brings His people forth never to disappoint or disgrace them. His divine providence will do a miracle more than you can imagine. Your debacles will now be turned into triumph and songs of praise.
