God Knows You

  • Rev. Bright Mawuena Nfodzo
Date preached May 24, 2022

13 It was you who formed my internal organs, fashioning me within my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because you are fearful and wondrous! Your work is wonderful, and I am fully aware of it.

15 My frame was not hidden from you while I was being crafted in a hidden place, knit together in the depths of the earth.

16 Your eyes looked upon my embryo, and everything was recorded in your book. The days scheduled for my formation were inscribed, even though not one of them had come yet.

17 How deep are your thoughts, God! How great is their number!

18 Were I to count them, they would number more than the sand. When I awake, I will be with you.

Psalm 139 was authored by David though some also think it was written by prophet Zechariah. Maybe he used David’s words and rewrote them. Zechariah wrote a Book of the Bible. He lived 450 years after David.

Whatever the case is, this Psalm underscores God’s plan and might, which calls for daily meditation.

Being the Creator, God has perfect knowledge of those He created. He knows their innermost thoughts as well as their physical characteristics and has a detailed knowledge of their lives that are yet to be (verses 13-16).

That is God! Even when you were in the womb of your mother, God knew you. Mothers should take care of their babies because they belong to God.

As the psalmist meditates on the mysterious purposes and wonderful works of God, he finds they are too vast to understand and too numerous to count. When he awakes after his meditation he knows that God is still with him (verse 17-18).

🔷 You must take care of yourself because your whole being belongs to God

🔷 God’s eye is on you to keep you strong and safe always and to supply your needs.

🔷 Parents must take care of their children because they will account for the to God.

💥 Worship God’s majesty
💥Plead God’s eyes to guide you throughout

Because God knows the little about each person, He knows all our troubles as well. God is right there with you. Meditate on His work and word daily, and you shall know Him more.
